RP505 Rail Propulsion Generator Product Launch

Stadco is pleased to announce that we have launched the latest generation in our Railgen Rail Propulsion Generator line. The new model is designated the RP505, and continues our development of generators for the GenSet locomotive market.

The RP505 is a product of Stadco’s latest research into vibration isolation, electronic controls and other features designed to reduce maintenance, increase durability and protect your investment. The genset is powered by a Tier 3 Deutz 2015. The RP505 has a vibration-isolating sub-frame that cuts unit vibration in half. A new control board allows the J1939 protocol engine controls to be better monitoring in the locomotive cab. Additionally, the new control system enables remote monitoring and control of the unit through telemetry.

The first new RP505’s have already shipped. They will be put into service on locomotives in an intermodal cargo yard in New Orleans. If you are interested in learning more about products for the genset locomotive market, please contact us today.
